Dr Dumindu Witharana is a Consultant Psychiatrist with 20 years of experience, providing expert care for adults with mood, anxiety, psychotic, and stress-related disorders. He delivers safe, effective, and evidence-based psychiatric care, with a strong focus on patient wellbeing and collaborative management.

He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Psychiatrists (UK) and the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (RANZCP), and holds a master’s degree in Psychotherapy. Dr Witharana currently serves as the Director of Gold Coast Mental Health and Specialist Service (In-Patient) and the Clinical Lead for the Mood Disorder Service at Gold Coast University Hospital.

Dr Witharana is known for his compassionate, patient-centred approach, instilling hope and supporting patients and their families throughout their journey towards mental wellbeing. He is dedicated to lifelong learning, staying up-to-date with new and emerging treatments in psychiatry, and works collaboratively with General Practitioners and the wider community.
